DirectVision® Guide

Why You Need a Catheter with Vision?

Having a urinary catheter placed can be uncomfortable. This discomfort can be due to:

  • An enlarged prostate (BPH)
  • Stricture disease
  • Past injuries
  • Urologic procedures
  • And many other reasons.

When you have one of these difficulties, a special catheter can help the healthcare provider see where the catheter is going and ease placement.

The DirectVision® Guide enables the nurse, acute care physician or urologist the ability to visually examine the urethra and bladder and aid in the placement of a Foley catheter.  The guide provides illumination and real-time video to the camera and monitor while viewing the visually guided urinary catheter placement.
